Perfect on Paper

All our rosy, poetic conversations
All the moon-lit dreams we shared
The telepathy we felt
On the most mundane occasions
That converted a moment into a miracle;

All our unsolved riddles
All our love laden complaints
The connection of souls we felt
In the lap of ethereal silence
That echoes deep within even today;

I wonder why, but they are only
Perfect on paper
Incomprehensible out of it
Reality, perhaps doesn't have space
For something so deep and esoteric.

  4. Sometimes the words and worlds we create on paper are indeed more treasured than reality - i think that is good :-)

    There will be that poignant moment when a re=thinking is always necessary. One needs to reflect on choices available!

  8. Sometimes the deepest thoughts are those that are expressed on paper! And if they are taken away from their written source they may appear, to others, surreal. Good to see you in the Pantry, Purba.

  9. I think sometimes what we put on paper is much more real and the crazy stuff we see for real.

  10. Lovely to read you, Purba.......I have known a connection that sounded perfect on paper, but was tested in the real world. It is confusing, but teaches us to seek one that feels right both on and off the page. Smiles.

  11. Sometimes, paper is not deep enough... It only shows glimpses and shadows of what is... Still, it's a great way to get started. I wonder if imagined paper runs deeper... in real life.

  12. "...I wonder why, but they are only
    Perfect on paper..." is were I would have ended it. Up to that point I felt your poem was perfect, and comprehensive. :)
    I always enjoy reading you.

  13. Reality rarely has space for perfection, at least not to display it. Which may be good, as reality then, can not ruin it. This is a delightful musing poem.

  14. Writing prose and poetry is much like dreaming where we can live our lives separate from reality. However inside of us it really happens. I really enjoyed this Purba.

  16. The ultimate remains beyond the realm of paper, even if it is transmitted it is done without words.
